Buyaanv Musical Nite at Kalaangann Mangalore, October 25: Goa's famous Konkani singer, composer Mr. Ullas Buyaanv and his group will hold a musical nite at Kalaangann, Shakthinagar on Sunday, October 27. This will be a part of the celebrations of Konkani's recognition in constitution a decade ago, organised by Konkani Bhasha Mandal, Karnatak. Under the auspices of Karnataka Konkani Sahithya Academy and Dr. T. M. A. Pai Prathishtan, Manipal this programme will be held. Winners of Konkani Story on a Post Card, poetry winners will be awarded prizes. 25 Konkani associations who work for the betterment of Konkani will be felicitated during this programme said media publication.
Prof. K. R. Vasantha Moni bags
Manipal, October 25: Every year Dr. T. M. A. Pai Prathishtan, Manipal is awarding Best Konkani Book Award. 2001 year's best book award went to Professor K. R. Vasantha Moni Aalapulla's short stories book, 'Nimajjan.' Award ceremony will be on Sunday, October 27 at Sri Ramakrishna Technical Institute Auditorium, Kochi Palace Road. Kochi Science and Technology University's past chancellor Prof. M. V. Paili will be the chief guest. Famous short story writer Prof. Vasantha Moni is a retired chancellor of Kochi Science-Technololgy University. Apart from stories, he has written plays. Nimajjan book was published in 1999 and now it has been already translated into Malayalam. Currently Prof. Vasantha Moni Aalapulla is the president of Kerala Konkani Academy.
