'BORPI MITHR' FELICITATES KONKANNI WRITER 'HENRY D'PAULA'

'Borpi Mithr', A Konkanni writers' forum in Muscat felicitated veteran Konkanni writer from Mumbai Shri Henry D'Paula who was in Muscat on a short visit on Friday, 17th May 2002.

This short & sweet meeting was organized at SS Peter & Paul Church, Ruwi community hall and started with a prayer followed by a welcome speech by Borpi Mithr convener Shri Clarence, Kaikamba. Shri Allen Fernandes an active member of Borpi Mithr gave a brief history of Borpi Mithr and briefed it's activities and future plans to serve our dear maibhas Konkanni.

A memento was presented to the guest of honour by Smt.Helen Sequeira, a member of Borpi Mithr. Shri Henry D'Paula in his speech thanked Borpi Mithr for this great honour and expressed his happiness at the unity of Konkanni children and their Konkanni activities in various parts of the Gulf especially Muscat, Dubai, Kuwait and Bahrain. He appreciated the commitment of Konkanni activists in the Gulf to support our dear language Konkanni despite their job commitments. He also urged to render support to 'Divo' a popular Konkanni weekly who work tirelessly to uplift Konkanni in various ways. He also extended his support for Borpi Mithr in their future endeavours. Vibrant members of Borpi Mithr Shri Wilfred R. Pangla and Shri Richa Pangla expressed their joy for this memorable visit by a veteran and a seasoned Konkanni writer.

Felicitation meeting ended with a vote of thanks by a Borpi Mithr Shri Gerry D'Mello.
