1,000 representatives for Konkani Parishad

 

Mangalore, April 17: All India Konkani Parishad will be held in Mangalore, at Dongarakeri Canara High School (Main), Bantwal Damodhar Prabhu Nagar.  Dr. Tanaji from Goa will lbe the president for this parishad and its main goal is: "Konkani Bhas anim Sanskruthi Prathishtan" said Organising Committee Chairperson Sri Basti Vaman Shenoy in press conference.  From all over India, there will be one thousand representatives will take part.  On April 20 it will be inaugurated.  State port and fisheries minister Sr. B. Ramanatha Rai, MLA Sri Yogish Bhat will join as guests.  On that day new Konkani book, audio tapes and souvenir will be released.  On April 21, Industries minister Sri R. V. Deshpande will be the guest.  On this day those who worked for developing Konkani language and culture will be felicitated.

Symposiums: Both days there will be Kavi Sammelans.  On April 20, "Konkani Bhas Tisrya Sahasramanak Yek Vishal Disht" symposium will be conducted.  Evening 4 p.m. Kavi Sammelan will be hosted.  On April 21 "Sikshananth Konkani Bhas, Konkani Madhyam Pathrika (Radio-TV), Sthree Shakthikaran - Konkani Samajachi Drishti" will be the subject of symposium.  Both days there will be variety entertainment.  Where these programs are conducted, auditorium is named as 'Divangath Ammembal Subbarao Pai Vedike.' 

All India Konkani Parishad past president Sri K. K. Pai is the honourary president, Karnataka Konkani Academy president Msgr. Alexander F. D'Souza welcoming committee president, Sri Kudpi Jagadisha Shenoy treasurer, Sri Eirc Ozario cultural committee chair, Sri Venkatesha Baliga publicity and public relations, Dr. Kasturi Mohana Pai dialogues, Fr. Eric Crasta souvenir, Sri Louie Pinto transportation, Sri H. Raghavendra Rao facility, Sri Vithoba Bhandarkar registration and Sri J. L. D'Souza office.  All these are working very hard to the success of this parishad said Sri Shenoy in his briefing.
