DAIJI DUBAI FELICITATES ERIC OZARIO

 

 

Daiji Dubai, the forum of Konkani Writers in the UAE felicitated Mr. Eric Ozario in recognition of his contribution to Konkani Music and culture at a get-together held on Saturday the 11th May 2002 at Shezan Restaurant, here in Dubai.

Mr. Stany Pinto, Nirude presided over the function. He in his speech applauded the efforts put in by Eric for the enrichment and propagation of Konkani culture and Music. Mr. Melvyn Rodrigues introduced Eric to all daijis in his welcome speech. He was given a shawl and a memento by Mr. Stany Pinto and Mr. Valerian Peris. Mr. Dian D'Souza gave vote of thanks.

Mr. Eric in his speech spoke about the fate of konkani culture and the dangerous direction in which our present generation is moving. He spoke about konkani people, konkani music and about the dream project Kalaangann which was inaugurated recently by Cine star Mr. Naseeruddin Shah. In the "Bhasabhas" session, he answered all the questions asked by the daijis.

Present during the function were Mr.Rithesh Kiran, Dr. Rashmi Kiran, (Eric's Children), Mr.Alwyn Fernandes (Son-in-law), Mr. Stany Alvares, Mr. Arun Raj Rodrigues (Mandd Sobhann Office Bearers) and Mr. Denzil Fernandes (the Organiser of Baila Masala Show).

Mr. Walter Nandalike was the master of ceremony.
