'Divo' offers
to publish a special issue for Sunny D`Souza's artificial leg

Mumbai:
Mr. Lawrence Coelho, editor of leading Konkanni weekly 'Divo'
has offered to publish a special issue for gathering funds to
well known playwright Shri Sunny A. D`Souza's artificial leg. He
asked 'Konkan Taram' Mumbai to lead this cause. He was
addressing a gathering at Jerimeri, Mumbai when the issue was
raised by some supporters of the literateur.
Few weeks before, through daijidubai.com, few Konkani supporters
had shown keen interest in donating artificial leg to Shri
D`Souza by raising funds from his fans all over the world.
Approximately Rs. 31,000/- have been collected and a separate
account has been maintained by "Konkan Taram" for this cause,
informed Ms. Flora Kalmady while giving the details to the
members.

Mr. Francis Ferandes, Cascia and Mr. Walter Nandalike were
felicitated at the gathering.
Mr. Cascia offered Rs. 10,000/-
towards this noble cause.
On accepting the honour Mr. Walter Nandalike who is instrumental
in bringing the Konkani people spread all over the world under
one umbrella through the auspicious 'Daijidubai.com' said "It
will be a great honor for us if Sunny gets a leg at the
earliest". He promised all the possible help through

'Konkan Taram' a well known Konkanni organisation in Mumbai,
donated Rs.50,000/- to the St. Jude's School Building. Treasurer
of the Association Mr. Denis D`Souza handed over the cheque to
Fr. Simon D`Souza.
Sangeeth Samrat Mr. Henry D`Souza, Mr. Clement Lobo, Mrs. Susan
Coelho, and Mr. Robert Suares - President of Konkani Federation,
were also present during the occasion.
As part of the entertainment programme a musical show was
arranged Mr. Willy, Hirgan. Vinay, Naveen, Reshma, Maxi and
Master Jyod Rodrigues sang some beautiful numbers to the music
arranged by Mr. Benjamin Miranda.
Well known Actor and Konkani Writer Mr. John Mascarenhas
compered the
programme.
