Barkur: 'Butterfly Ice cream' fame John Furtado passed away
Barkur: The popular Konkanni businessman, owner of South Canara's famous Ice cream brand 'Butterfly Ice Cream' company owner, Shri John Furtado passed away on 10th August, 2002.
Mr. John Furtado , from Bennekudru, Barkur started the Butterfly Ice Creams at Sasthan in the year 1985 , after working abroad for 15 years and within a short span of time lead the Butterfly Ice creams as one of the most sought out brand in South Canara District. very helpful in nature he was very popular with youth groups specially the CYM of Mangalore Diocesce.
He was 52. He left behind his wife Mrs. Dorothy Furtado, two daughters Sahila & Laila, and many well wishers.
His body laid to rest at the cemetary of St.Antony's Church Sasthan on 11/08/2002
