Shirthadi William Pinto Advocate nominated as Member of District Legal services authority.
Shirthadi William Pinto Advocate Udupi and a
social activist has been nominated by the State Government as one of the
Non-official member of Udupi District Legal services authority constituted
first time after formation of District Court.
Mr. Pinto writer of 2 law books and Land Reforms Act in 1974 and on Zilla
Panchayath Act 1986 addressed more than 300 Public meetings, conducted
seminars, workshop to rural masses of Coastal districts regarding benefits
arising from Land Reforms, Panchayath system, human rights, and laws
relating to daily lives of ordinary masses including farmers, Daliths, women
etc.
Mr. Pinto was also lecturer Udupi Law College for about 22 years and still
continues as part time lecturer in law in Milagres College Kallianpur since
its inception in 1967. Since 3 decades, Mr. Pinto is striving continuously
to create legal awareness among suppressed and oppressed sections of the
society through his speeches, articles and Radio- speeches.
