Christian Association: "Christmas 2002" celebration
Chicago, November 9:
Mangalorean Konakn Christian Association, Chicago have organized
"Christmas 2002" on Saturday, December 21 at Courtland Square Club House,
8909 David Place, Des Plaines, Illinois-60016. For the first time in
Chicagoland there will be a Holy Mass in Konkani celebrated by Fr. Jerry
D'Souza of Mangalore. Choir group will sing Konkani hymns and there will
be Christmas Carols in Konkani and English.
Mangalore's popular 'Dukra Mass & sannam' with authentic Mangalorean style
dinner and Christmas special Kuswaar will be served to all participants;
all items will be home made Mangalorean style. During entertainment, MKCA
decided to have 'Fancy Dress Competition' for kids below 15 years. There
will be three age groups: 1. Below 5 years old; 2. Between 10 and 6 years
and 3. Between 15 and 11. Winners will be awarded with beautiful Christmas
gifts. Those kids want to take part should send their entries to MKCA
secretary, Mr. Lawrence Mascarenhas. Soft and hard drinks are free of
charge as a complement from committee members. Santa Clause will give away
surprise gifts to all kids under 15 years. There will be a Bharatha Natyam
and special spot prizes.
RSVP Admission Charges are: $ 12.00 for adults above 15 years old and $
6.00 for kids between 15 and 3 years. Kids below three are free of charge.
At the door on December 21 is: $15.00 for adults and $10.00 for kids.
