Dubai : 'Rajyostsava' celebration by Karnataka Sangha
"The Sangha celebrated Rajyotsava 2002 with
traditional gaiety & fervour with vibrant folk dances and enchanting
Carnatic Music on Saxaphone on Friday 1st Nov. 2002 at Dubai.
Writer Proff.Iqbal Ahmed, Revered Scholar Shri.Bannanje Govindacharya and
Editor of Udayavani Shri.N. Gururaj were the Guests of Honour. Hon'ble
Consul General of India Dr.George Joseph was the Chief Guest & President
Dr.B.K.Yusuf, presided. Grand Patron Mr.B.R.Shetty, Advisor Mr.T.S.Shettigar,
Mr.Sarvotham Shetty, Mr.Sathish Shetty & Mr.Boniface Carlo, Mr.Narayan
graced the stage. Eminent & Rajyotsava Award winner, Saxophonist
Mr.M.S.Gopal Krishna (who enthralled the audience later), Shri.Bannanje
Govindacharya, Shri.N.Gururaj and Dr.George Joseph were honoured and
felicitated in traditional manner. Ex-President & one of the founders of the
Sangha Shri Sundar Devadiga, Mr.Hariharan who Choregraphed the programme &
Shri.Ganesh Rai who set up the special stage were also felicitated on this
festive occasion.
Entertainment Secretaries Mr.Dinesh Kumar and Mrs.Gopika Mayya produced and
presented the stage programme with the able support of choreographer
Hariharan, Mr.Sanjaykrishna, Mrs.Hema Chandra, Mrs.Patil, Mrs.Meera Bhat,
Mr.Manohar Hegde, Mr.Jayanth Shetty, Miss Marina Menezes, Carlo Sisters and
many more teenage and young children who performed the vibrant dances which
entertained the hall full of members and guests. All the Executive Committee
Members & Volunteers toiled hard to make this annual event a great suceess.
ETA GROUP were the main sponsor of this cultural get-together. The programme
