REBIMBUS COUPLE IS HONOURED IN KUWAIT
Mr.Lawrence Pinto honoring Wilfy
Konkanni Kullvaar Kuwait - (Konkanni Writers
Forum of Kuwait) Honored well known Konkanni Poet/Singer Mr.Wilfy Rebimbus
for his service to Konkanni Language, Konkanni Literature for past 4
decades.
Wilfy Rebimbus with his Wife Mrs. Meena Rebimbus, Daughter Mrs. Veena Pais,
Son Mr.Vishwas Rebimbus had arrived to Kuwait for his record 210th musical
show known as 'WILFY NIGHT' successfully organized by SWAK on 4th October
2002.
In a brief function of honor held in the Meridian Hotel Kuwait began with
Welcome by Mr.Lancy Pinto Nayak Kulshekar (Convener of Kullvaar) then
welcomed the President of the function Mr.Lawrence Pinto, Chief guest
Mr.John Paul Fernandes and Rebimbus Couple to the stage. He also expressed
his words of appreciation towards Wilfy and family for the successful WILFY
NITE.
Mrs.Anitha, IDa DSilva, honored Mrs.Meena Rebimbus
Konkanni Singers Mr.Rony DCunha, Mrs.Jasmine DCunha, Mr.Gratian DSouza,
Mr.Lancy Rodrigues, Mrs.Venisha Fernandes and Mr.Jayson Lasrado then sung a
welcome song composed by Mr.Lancy Pinto Nayak, tuned by Mr.Lancy Rodrigues,
Music by Mr.Adrian Gomes, Mr.Lancy Rodrigues then dedicated and offered this
song to Mr.Wilfy Rebimbus.
Mr.Valley Quadras, Ajekar introduced the details of activity
done/conducted/organised by Konkanni Kullvaar Kuwait in this year.

Mr.Veronico Fernandes - Well known Konkanni writer and general secretary of
Konkanni Heritage appreciated Wilfy's simplicity that made him the
most loved Konkanni person amongst the Konkanni People.
Mr.Johnny Misquith Surathkal the compere, read the introduction of Wilfy
Rebimbus (MAAN POTR) and Chief guest Mr.John Paul Fernandes handed over the
MAN POTR to Mr. Wilfy Rebimbus. Then the president Mr.Lawrence Pinto honored
Mr.Wilfy Rebimbus with a Shawl and offered him Flowers and Fruits with
memento on behalf of Konkanni Kullvaar Kuwait. Later in his speech
Mr.Lawrency Pinto said, had Wilfy selected any other language instead of
Konkanni, things would have been different. But the passionate love of
Konkanni has won him millions of lovers around the globe.

Rev.Fr.J.B.Crasta who arrived from Kundapur to Kuwait then spoke his
feelings on Mr.Wilfy Rebimbus he also mentioned Wilfy's contribution to
Music doesn't limit to only entertaining songs but also to the Religion.
Mrs.IDa DSilva, Mrs.Anitha Fernandes honored Mrs.Meena Rebimbus by honoring
her with Flowers, Gold and a Saree for her contribution to the Konkani
music. On behalf of children, Ms Mewral Mascarenhas offered flowers and
fruits to Mrs.Meena Rebimbus.
Mr.Wilfy then spoke in his ever-simple manner by thanking each and every
Konkan Person for giving him such a big Honor. He also expressed his
emotional desire to sing till he can sing and write songs till his last
breadth.

A crowd of 50 writers and invited guests then gave him a laud applauds.
Mr.Johnny Surathkal welcomed Konkanni writer Mrs.Jecintha Pinto who
came to Kuwait from Mangalore and was present to the function.

The entertaining program lead by Mr.Lancy Rodrigues, Ms.Mewral Mascarenhas,
Mr.Vishwas Rebimbus sang songs and entertained all gathered guests.
