South Canara: Sister Roshni from Belman & Mr. Thomas D`Souza, Brahmavar among the 'Best Teacher' award winners

 

Udupi, September 3: 5 teachers each From Primary and High Schools in Udupi were selected for Udupi District Best Teachers' Award.  Awards will be given away on September 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Udupi Sri Krishna Math Rajangan during a ceremony said Selection Committee President and DDPI Mr. K. Rajan here today.

Primary School Level: Sr. Roshani:
Sr. Roshani is a headmistress at St. Joseph's Higher Primary School, Belmann, Karkala Taluk who served as a teacher for 34 years.  She made arrangements to have all needed furniture to the school and arranged Hobali Level Sports Meet last year.  She is very helpful for poor students in school with her own money and pay more attention for maintaining time.  She is also well versed in arranging varieties of activities for students and make them involved.

High School Level: Mr. Thomas D'Souza:
Mr. Thomas D'Souza working since 34 years at Brahmawara S. M. S. Pre University College as a Physical Education Teacher.  He served as an organiser in State Level Sports Meet in 1996 at Mangalore; State Level Badminton Tournament which held at Viveka Pre University College, Kota in 1998; State Level Night Light Volley Ball Tournament held at Mandarthi and District and Taluk Level Sports Meets.  His is a well known name in the field of Sports.

'Adarsha Shikshaka' awards announced
 


Bangalore, September 3:
The Department of Collegiate Education has announced the ''Adarsha Shikshaka'' (Model Teacher) awards for 2001-02 for lecturers and non-teaching staff of government and private aided colleges in Karnataka for their outstanding services.  The awards will be presented at a function by Governor T. N. Chaturvedi on Teacher's Day at Ravindra Kalakshetra.  For the first time, the award presentation programme has been jointly organised by the department of collegiate education together with teachers' organisation like FUCTAK, KGCTA and BUCTA, College Principals' Forum and Associations of non-teaching staff as well as group 'D' employees.  Following are the two out of several award winners.
