Doha: 'Karavali' team wins the MCC Throw-Ball tournament

The Ladies Throwball Tournament organized by Mangalore Cricket Club was successfully held on 30 &31st May 2002 at MES School Grounds. The colourful inauguration ceremony held on 30th was attended by all the Nine teams. The chief guest of the day HE Ranjan Mathai, Indan Ambassador and Guest of Honour Prof. Mohammed Aejaz, Principal, MES Indian School and the large gathering was welcomed by MCC President Felix Lobo, Mr. Mathai commended the efforts of MCC in organising the tournament and inaugurated the tournament by releasing balloons.


'Karavali' - the all Mangalorean team captained by Mrs Ivy Rosario were the  winners and Doha Goans were the runners up. The Third place went to Tulu Koota. The other participating teams were; MES Indian School, Ideal Indian School, Qatar Tamil Sangam, Mesaieed Dolphins, Kaveri and Indian Womens Association.



On the prize distribution day held on 31st May, the Trophy's were presented  to the winners by Chief Guest Mrs. and Mr. Alfred Sequeira, Managing Director of Gulf international Enterprises, Distributors of 'Orangeboom', the main sponsors of the tournament. All the 108 players and officials were given valuable gifts. This tournament was co-sponsored by Abela Qatar International Co. Media support was by Gulf Times.
